Short Breaks

Together for Children offers a number of short breaks opportunities for carers of disabled children.

How do we arrange a short break?
As a first step your child's social worker will refer your child to the Resource Panel who will decide if we can meet your child's needs.

Sea View Road
Our home at Sea View Road West offers a safe place where disabled children and young people can have a short break. Children and young people are encourage to enjoy themselves by making new friends and trying new experiences, ultimately helping them develop toward independence as much as they are able.

Your child will have their own room and we have bedrooms and bathrooms with hoists if they are needed. There are a number of communal areas including a lounge, dining room, cinema room and games room as well as a large rear garden with play area which includes play equipment for wheelchair use. Find out more on the Local offer website.

Short break caravan
We also have an accessible caravan at Whitley Bay Caravan Park, for use by families with disabled children. To find out more about the caravan and how to book visit the Local Offer website
