Super communicators

Early Talk Boost helps young children aged 3-4 build vital language and communication skills through fun, therapist-designed group sessions.

Attending Family Hub groups can be a powerful way to support your child's communication development - especially during the crucial early years when language skills are rapidly forming. These groups offer a rich, interactive environment that nurtures both verbal and non-verbal communication. Here's how:

Enhanced Language Exposure

  • Rich language environment: Children hear a variety of words, phrases, and sentence structures from adults and peers.
  • Interactive storytelling and singing: Activities like nursery rhymes and story time promote vocabulary, rhythm, and listening skills.
  • Repetition and modelling: Group leaders often use clear speech, gestures, and repetition to reinforce understanding.

Listening and Attention Skills

  • Structured group routines: Circle time, songs, and games help children learn to listen, wait their turn, and follow instructions.
  • Improved auditory processing: Exposure to different voices and sounds helps children distinguish and respond to language cues.

Social Communication Practice

  • Peer interaction: Children learn to initiate conversation, respond to others, and use gestures or expressions to communicate.
  • Turn-taking and sharing: These foundational skills are essential for effective communication and are practiced regularly in group play.
  • Confidence building: Speaking in a group setting helps children become more comfortable expressing themselves.

Parent Learning and Support

  • Speech strategies for home: Parents learn techniques like expanding on their child's speech, using open-ended questions, and narrating play.
  • Understanding milestones: You gain insight into typical speech and language development, helping you spot delays early.
  • Access to professionals: Our Family Hubs have links to speech and language therapists or early years specialists who can offer tailored advice.

Early Identification and Intervention

  • Referrals and resources: If needs are identified, Family Hubs can connect you with professionals who will help you support your child.
